  Workplace Health and Safety Responsibilities  
     
 

Uni-Span Australia Pty Ltd is committed to ensuring the health, safety and welfare of its employees and any other people who may be affected by the organizations operations.

 

The Directors accept overall responsibility for effective management of workplace health, safety and welfare. Managers must do whatever is reasonably practicable to make sure that the workplace and the work itself are safe. They are required to show leadership and communicate their commitment to safety by establishing injury prevention goals and safe work practices.

 

Employees and contractors must take reasonable care of themselves and others and co-operate to protect their health and safety. The Directors of Uni-Span Australia Pty Ltd will oversee the effectiveness of the Workplace Health & Safety Committee and ensure that outcomes and best practices of all its initiatives are driven at all levels of the organization. Uni-Span Australia Pty Ltd will comply with all legal and statutory requirements. Managers are to ensure compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety requirements of the state/s and territories for which they work or manage and in accordance WH/S Committee initiatives, moral and ethical obligations and best practices to its employees, contractors, customers and general and greater community.

 
     
  Environmental Policy  
     
 

Uni-span Australia has long recognized that commitment to environmental affairs and care on a global scale cannot be left to be managed through lip service. It is the moral, ethical and worldly expectation of business leaders to ensure management and commitment. Our commitment to this Environmental Policy is one of continued consultative management to preservation of environmental resources and minimisation of any negative impact to the greater community. The Directors of Uni-span Australia have effectively implemented a structured continual process of consultation through all levels of the organisation. The W.E.I.T- Workplace Environmental Improvement Team will foster and steer this virtue through regular auditing of the workplace and introduction; through monthly meetings, of positive initiatives.

 

The W.E.I.T will meet on a quarterly basis to discuss and implement environmental controls, operating procedures and management alternatives to correct measures, minimize waste and emissions. Uni-Span Australia will emphasis and reinforce all outcomes of W.E.I.T through all staff and contractors to ensure through its environmental appraisal process that the projects it finances are environmentally sound, designed to operate in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, and that their environmental performance is also monitored. It will pay particular attention to requiring appropriate and efficient mitigation measures and management of environmental issues, which may have legal, financial and implications reputation, as well as environmental implications.

 

An Environmental Action Plan (EAP) will be the measure to best practices on each major project Uni-span proposes to undertake.

Uni-Span remains a leader in the field of scaffolding products and equipment, by commitment to the Quality Management Systems it upholds and dedication to continued compliance. The Quality Assurance Policy is a working document where we measure our performance by efficiently operating under ISO AS/NZ 9001:2000 guidelines. Uni-Span is self assessed to the certified standard.

 

Our system includes procedures for continued improvements in quality, reliability and safety. An engineering report and certification on all products, Safe Work Methods Statements and qualified leading personnel accompany our promise. The Policy commits to procedures and performance factors which ensure: Our promise and contractual obligation meet to established deadlines whilst striving to improve efficiency.

 

All QA - Quality Assurance records are compiled, maintained and accessible to all stakeholders. Preferred suppliers and contractors are only engaged when they can satisfy and commit to company standards. All undertakings are assessed for identification of all company and corporate risks. Our stakeholders – (all employees, participants in delivery of our products and services) will contribute to a culture of safe work, best practices through dedication to the Workplace Health and Safety Policy and its global and moral obligation to the Environment; through the W.E.I.T. (Workplace Environment Improvement Team). Uni-Span is resolute in completing and delivering all measure of the EMS – Environmental Management System as per ISO AS/NZ 14001:2004.
